| Why Treat Water ? |
Water and Waste Water are treated to protect public health and to minimize negative impact on various ecosystems. In its purest state, water is Colorless, Odorless and Tasteless.
Water / waste water management should aim at providing this characteristic of water to be discernibly used for various purposes, which are broadly classified in to two - Utility and drinking.
In its broadest sense, Water treatment is nothing but appropriate filtration. The methods employed for treatment depends on the level of contamination in the source water and the required application of the resultant treated water (Eg: Utility or Drinking). |

Water and Waste Water Management Solutions |
People in most countries, have been warding off any expense involved in treating water (why spend money treating waste, has been the oft-heard question) as the magnanimity of the problem had not dawned till recently.
Treated wastewater is increasingly being recycled or reused in agriculture, horticulture; utility purposes (both in residential as well as corporate buildings).
A number of innovative corporate and residential buildings and campuses are using dual water supply systems where recycled wastewater is supplied for purposes such as landscaping, air conditioning, laundry, bathing, dish washing, toilet flushing, and swimming pools.
Raw water also needs to be treated using specific methods for drinking, cooking and other personal use.

| How is waste water generated? |
Water collected from any source is contaminated and this contamination runs at three levels: physical, chemical and microbiological. Hence it becomes imperative for water, obtained from any soucre, to be treated as the contamination is perceivable even in the so-called ‘fresh water‘ sources.
Sources of wastewater include homes, shops, offices and factories, farms, transport and fuel depots, vessels, quarries and mines.Water used in toilets, showers, baths, kitchen sinks and laundries in homes and offices is also considered wastewater.
Much of the wastewater we produce has been changed in a way that means it cannot be used again unless it is treated. Changes made to water that turn it into wastewater include: warming or cooling it, adding human waste, adding oil, grease or fat, adding organic matter such as food wastes and adding poisons such as pesticides, some organic compounds, synthetic chemicals and heavy metals

| Process |
This is how it works:
Raw Water from various sources or Waste Water generated during toilet flushing, bathing, laundry and dish washing, air conditioning etc. are treated using multiple processes to remove sediments and contaminants and kill potentially harmful microorganisms.
The processes depend on the desired quality and usage of the treated water.
Using processes that exist today, even deeply contaminated sewage water can be treated to make drinkable.
